A line through the snow

A single trail crosses an otherwise unbroken foreground. The walker’s bright jacket gives the snow-covered landscape a point of colour and a sense of scale.

Pink on the peaks

Warm light catches the highest ridges while the lower slopes remain subdued. The change in colour does most of the work: a familiar mountain shape becomes something briefly luminous.

A cabin at the water’s edge

The red cabin anchors a wide expanse of snow. Behind it, water and mountains fall into horizontal bands, leaving the building as the only strong interruption.

Between sea and sky

Rougher water changes the mood of the collection. A boat sits low against mountains that are partly hidden by cloud, while pink light remains in the sky above.

At the surface

A dark fin breaks the water in front of a wall of snowy mountains. The photograph brings two very different scales together: a brief movement at the surface and the landscape behind it.
